Single Description

Single from their 1993 multi-platinum smash album forGeffen, 'In Utero'. It's backed with the album's 'Rape Me'and the non-album track 'Moist Vagina'. Slimline jewel case.

Like many Nirvana songs, "All Apologies" is defined not so much by a specific meaning as by the mood and atmosphere it communicates.

The aforementioned January 1991 studio version of the song features an upbeat arrangement and even a tambourine, suggesting that at first, Cobain saw it as simply a catchy pop song. By the time it was recorded for In Utero, however, the song had adopted a darker tone, giving a certain finality to lyrics such as the chorus refrain of "In the sun I feel as one - married/ buried."

Still, even the final version of the song ends on what can be considered an uplifting note, with the chanted refrain of "All in all is all we are" sung over the song's feedback-laden guitar riff in a manner reminiscent of the "Jai Guru Deva" mantra which closes The Beatles' "Across the Universe."

Cobain dedicated "All Apologies" to his wife Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean during Nirvana's appearance at the Reading Festival in 1992.

Buy this for "Moist Vagina"

This is a great single. Wonderful artwork, great songs, and it's readily availible for purchase by other sellers on Amazon. 'All Apologies' is a lovely song, one of the best on 'In Utero'. 'Rape Me' is another excellent track off 'In Utero'. But the real gem here is 'Moist Vagina', this particular version only available on this single (an alternate version is on the 'With The Lights Out' boxset). And the song does not dissapoint, with it's wonderfully raunchy lyrics and an over-all good perforance by the band. Sadly, this is Nirvana's last single. Nonetheless, I strongly recommend it be purchased by any Nirvana fan, new or old.

floored from MV alone

i am a kurdt cobain fanatic. he is the best songwriter ever, in my book. as a result i bought this little amazing piece of music. three songs, rape me, all apologies and MV. the first two are on in utero but MV is a great song. a true hidden gem. it just explodes out of my speakers and brings me to life. i think MV is worth the price of admission but you may not. if you have in utero then reconsider buying this unless your THAT into nirvana. if you want to get into kurdt or love him to death or colect then this is a MUST.

Rare B Side is Worth the Money

With this CD, you get All Apologies and Rape Me, two very good songs, but both easily found elsewhere. A plus with this CD is the song Moist V, in which Kurt blends strange vocal techniques and punk riffs/feedback with even stranger lyrics. This song is a definite commentary on the pre-suicide months of Kurt Cobain's life. For $12.99, it's an inexpensive, well-recorded must for all Nirvana collectors.
